I finally succumb and get myself the car I've wanted for years. The Subaru Impreza Turbo was never sold in the US, until the 'New Age' model arrived in March2001.
I got a silver 5 speed Impreza WRX Sportwagon, it has a turbocharged 2litre 227bhp flat four motor and all wheel drive. Looks like a shopping car, goes like stink.

'Bug eye' headlights not a big hit in all quarters, I like 'em though.

Hood scoop on the top of the bonnet feeds cold air to the intercooler.

I went for the Sportwagon instead of the sedan, greater practicality and in the US its $500 cheaper !
80lbs heavier and slightly different suspension setup though.

Roof rails normally have bike or board rack on them these days.

Engine bay stuffed full of 227 bhp flat 4 turbo engine. 0-60 in under 6 secs and about 140 mph. The big grey thing at the back is the intercooler

My other car, a '91 Honda Civic. Not as fast but seems to be indestructible. 120,000 miles and still starts first time every time.
